  • Are you an experienced cost management professional looking to work for a consultancy at Associate Director level?

    Archer Recruitment has been asked by a high-profile consultancy boasting an extensive portfolio of projects across the UK, that consistently deliver, and win, new projects within various sectors. They are a medium-sized consultancy with an active cohesion between the cost management and project management teams.

    The client will want you to be involved in both new and refurbishment projects typically ranging from £500,000 to £65,000,000 in a variety of sectors such as office, residential, retail, arts, education and industrial. You will be responsible for developing business from internal client departments and external clients, both for purely QS instructions and working with the project management team in pitches.

    You will be expected to work independently, although supervision is readily available through the senior management team. This is a client-facing role with excellent career progression for the right candidate, as such they require candidates that are confident and knowledgeable in this role.

    The team operates on a national basis and as such you will be expected to travel to client meetings and undertake site visits periodically, a driving license is therefore required.

    The core elements of the role will include but not be limited to:
    • Preparing cost plans and order of costs
    • Carrying out tender analysis and preparing tender reports
    • Developing the QS and cost business from their London HQ
    • Preparing interim valuations and financial reports
    • Agreeing variations and final accounts
    • Attending site and design team meetings
    The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
    • Have a proven track record of managing projects of a significant capital expenditure budget
    • Act as a mentor for any junior staff within the company
    • Experience within a professional quantity surveying consultancy
    • MRICS
    • Proven experience in cost planning
    • Measurement and pricing of variations
    • Working knowledge of JCT contracts
    • Computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Office
    • BIM measurement using Costx would be ideal, but training will be given
    Our client offers the successful candidate opportunity to work on career-defining greenfield and brownfield projects in the UK. You will be reporting directly into a director within the business who will act as a mentor and line manager, with a long-term envision of you progressing internally.
