  • Archer Recruitment is partnering with a market-leading consultancy within the social housing and local authority market.

    They provide a mixture of employers agent, traditional QS, construction management, building surveying and clerk of works duties, and are a family orientated business that runs a partnership model.

    The cost team has recently won tenders on some new local authority residential developments in London and the South East, working with a developer. Therefore, the successful candidate must have a track record on delivering within a strong residential or social housing project background.

    The company allows the employees to be given a level of autonomy and individuals are well rewarded for new business development. The senior cost manager will deliver QS services, from inception to completion, on a range of construction projects, in a client-facing technical role.

    The core elements of the role will include but not be limited to:
    • Final account preparation and assessment
    • Liaising with client project management
    • Appointment and allocation of work to contractors
    • Create and manage client relationships
    • Processing and amending contract variations
    • Be able to have high attention to detail
    The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
    • Have a proven track record of managing projects of a significant capital expenditure budget
    • Be a problem solver who will deliver for their client
    • Act as a mentor for any junior staff within the company
    • Experience within a professional quantity surveying consultancy
    • RICS accredited degree
    • MRICS is preferred
    What can the role offer you?
    Our client offers the successful candidate opportunity to work on residential projects in the South East, with the option to progress internally to director level. You will be able to work on a range of residential projects for an established consultancy, without having to travel into Central London as part of your standard daily commute.

    You will be reporting directly into a director within the business who will act as a mentor and line manager, allowing you to scale to new heights professionally.

    Our client is looking to interview in February/March with the successful candidate commencing on the projects within the next few weeks.
