Building Surveyor – Projects (Refurbishment Focus)

Level: Associate (3–5 years’ experience)

A leading property consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join its established Building Surveying & Projects team in London at Associate level.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious surveyor with 3–5 years’ experience to take ownership of a varied portfolio of refurbishment and repositioning projects across high-quality commercial assets.

The Role You will be responsible for delivering refurbishment-led instructions across a range of commercial and mixed-use buildings, working closely with investors, landlords and occupiers to enhance asset value through design and construction solutions.
Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering refurbishment and fit-out projects (Cat A / Cat B) from inception to completion
• Undertaking feasibility studies, technical due diligence and design coordination
• Acting as Contract Administrator under JCT forms of contract
• Managing programme, cost, quality and risk across live projects
• Leading client and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinating consultants, contractors and wider project teams
• Supporting asset enhancement and repositioning strategies

About You

• 3–5 years’ experience within building surveying or project surveying consultancy
• Strong background in refurbishment, fit-out or redevelopment projects
• Good understanding of JCT contracts, construction technology and procurement routes
• Ideally working towards or recently achieved MRICS
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• Commercially aware with a proactive, delivery-focused approach
