A leading international construction consultancy has been appointed to deliver a major Design & Build infrastructure scheme in London for a high-profile data centre client. We are seeking a commercially strong Quantity Surveyor to support delivery of a significant utilities and substation installation package.

The Project
This Design & Build programme includes:

Design and installation of substations (with associated M&E elements)
Water cable routes
Electricity cable routes
Linear utility infrastructure installed ahead of major construction works

The project is being delivered under NEC contract conditions, requiring proactive commercial management and strong change control capability within a D&B environment.

The Role
You will take ownership of commercial responsibilities across key work packages, working closely with the client, designers and delivery teams.
Key responsibilities:

Managing change control and compensation events (NEC essential)
Procurement and management of subcontract packages
Valuations, cost reporting and forecasting
Subcontract administration
Commercial risk management
Client-facing commercial support within a Design & Build structure

This role requires someone capable of operating independently while contributing positively to the wider commercial and delivery team.

About You
We are looking for a confident and capable QS who:

Has 5+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience
Comes from a contractor background
Has strong NEC (NEC3/NEC4 ECC) experience
Has Design & Build project exposure
Has worked at a sustained senior/intermediate level
Has experience in linear infrastructure (utilities, street works, water, electricity, service diversions, etc.)
Is personable, client-facing and commercially astute
Takes feedback constructively and works collaboratively
Is proactive, ambitious and technically strong
Can work independently and manage packages with minimal supervision

MRICS preferred, but candidates working toward APC are encouraged — full chartership support available.
