A leading independent construction and property consultancy is seeking an experienced Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) to join its growing Building Safety and Compliance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong construction professional to play a key role in delivering Building Safety Act compliance across a diverse portfolio of projects, acting as the appointed BRPD on both Higher-Risk and Non-Higher-Risk Buildings.
The Role
You will lead and coordinate the design compliance process throughout project lifecycles, ensuring Building Regulations duties are discharged effectively in line with the Building Safety Act and associated legislation.

The Role
You will lead and coordinate the design compliance process throughout project lifecycles, ensuring Building Regulations duties are discharged effectively in line with the Building Safety Act and associated legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Building Regulations Principal Designer across multiple projects
- Plan, manage and monitor design work to ensure compliance with Building Regulations
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and stakeholders throughout project delivery
- Review technical design information and identify compliance gaps / design risks
- Advise clients and project teams on statutory duties under the Building Safety Act
- Manage BRPD documentation, compliance trackers and audit trails
- Support Gateway submissions and liaison with Building Control / Building Safety Regulator where required
- Contribute to internal process development and building safety best practice
- Proven experience in a BRPD, Principal Designer, Building Control, Technical Design, Architectural or Compliance-focused role
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and Building Safety Act 2022
- Experience across complex construction / refurbishment / residential / mixed-use projects
- Ability to coordinate and challenge multidisciplinary design teams
- Excellent technical report writing and stakeholder management skills
- Professional membership with RICS / CABE / CIOB / APS / RIBA desirable
