Director, Site Selection - APAC

We’re partnered with one of the fastest-growing global data centre operators as they expand across APAC—and they’re hiring a Director of Site Selection to lead their strategic land acquisition efforts in Japan.

You’ll be the boots-on-the-ground lead, responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing hyperscale-ready land across priority Japanese markets. This isn’t just another real estate role—this is about enabling billion-dollar infrastructure development and playing a key role in one of the most aggressive growth strategies in the sector.

What you’ll be doing:

• End-to-end responsibility for site selection, due diligence, negotiations, and closing
• Leading engagement with developers, landowners, brokers, utilities, and local government stakeholders
• Owning the strategic land acquisition pipeline and shaping regional rollout plans
• Acting as the internal expert across all site transactions—supporting Design, Engineering, and Construction teams
• Driving acquisition outcomes within aggressive timeframes and budget targets

What they’re looking for:

• 10+ years in complex site acquisition, ideally for industrial, logistics, or technical infrastructure
• Deep network across Japanese real estate—especially at the C-Suite level
• Proven experience acquiring land for hyperscale, industrial, or data centre developments
• Comfortable negotiating high-value land deals and leading projects from strategy through to execution
• Bilingual (Japanese & English) preferred
